NMR operator curses
NMR operator training curse: I. measurements in liquid phase
Purpose: transfer of basic and practical NMR knowledge what makes the student capable to work on high field NMR spectrometers and carry out the most basic, frequently used one and two dimensional methods.
For whom: chemists, biologists, chemical engineers, environmental experts, research fellows, PhD students heavily involved in NMR applications.
Location: Pannon University,Center for Natural Sciences, NMR laboratory, Veszprém, Hungary (instrument: Bruker Avance 400)
Duration: five days, eight hours/day. Generally 4 hours lecture and four hours practice each day.
Certificate: the successful participants receive a certificate that entitle them to work on Bruker instruments under the TOPSPIN operation system.
Partition fee: 1000 euros (two participants), 800 euros (3-5 participants). If interested the participants will have a limited instrument time to work on their own samples. The fee includes the price of thre CD-s containing the text book used, the ppt the lectures and a photocopy of the materials used during the practices.
Themes:
- 1. day Lectures (8 hours) (basic NMR knowledge, theory and practice)
- 2. day Operation of the intrument and the use of controlling software system, data processing. One dimensional mesasurements ( 2 hours lecture, 6 hours practice)
- 3. day Methods based on through-bond polarisation transfer (INEPT, DEPT). Four hours lecture, four hours practice (calibrations).
- 4. day One dimensional measurements: Through-space polarisation transfer methods (NOE, 1D NOESY, 1D ROESY). Four hours lecture, four hours practice.
- 5. day Two dimensional measuremenrs: (COSY, HETCOR, HSQC, HMQC). Two hours lecture, four hours practice. Examination (two hours).
NMR operator training curse: II. measurements in solid phase
Purpose: transfer of basic and practical solid state NMR knowledge what makes the student capable to work on high field NMR spectrometers and carry out the most basic, frequently used one and two dimensional solid state methods.
For whom: chemists, biologists, chemical engineers, materials engineers, research fellows, PhD students heavily involved in solid NMR applications.
