„There are fluids everywhere” – Andrew Putnis
A Téli Ásványtudományi Iskola a tágabb értelemben vett ásványtani szakterület kutatóinak találkozója, ahol hosszabb, „review” jellegű meghívott előadások, valamint a résztvevők legújabb kutatási eredményeit bemutató rövidebb beszámolók hangzanak el.
Ebben az évben a kitüntetett téma: „Ásványok és fluidumok”. A Föld egészére jellemző, hogy a fluidumok befolyásolják vagy akár meghatározzák az ásványok képződését, átalakulását, mállását. Legyen szó a köpenyben zajló magmás tevékenységről, a hidrotermás ércképződésről, vagy a felszíni ásványképző-lebontó folyamatokról, az ásvány/fluidum kölcsönhatások mindenhol fontos szerephez jutnak. Sőt, még a légkörben és a naprendszer egyes égitestjein is jelentőséggel bírnak.
Az idei iskola meghívott előadója Dr. Sarah Gleeson (Geoforschungszentrum Potsdam), EAG Distinguished Speaker lesz, aki az üledékes Zn és Cu ércképződésről tart előadásokat.

The Winter School in Mineral Sciences is a meeting of professionals and students of mineral-related sciences (in a very broad sense); the program typically consists of review-like invited talks (this is the "school" part) and contributed presentations on actual research results.
This year's highlighted topic is: "Minerals and Fluids". Fluids and minerals interact in all compartments of the Earth and even beyond it. Fluids play important roles in magmatic and metamorphic processes, they obviously control mineral formation and weathering in surface environments, and are necessary for the formation of most earth resources. In addition, minerals in association with fluids occur in the atmosphere and in our solar system as well.
Our invited EAG Distinguished Speaker, Dr. Sarah Gleeson from the Geoforschungszentrum Potsdam, will present two lectures on sedimentary ore formation.
We welcome contributions; abstract submission will be open until 20 slots for talks are filled.
